and help Enhancement while having fun!
WHAT IS A "PARTY WITH A PURPOSE"?
This can be any type of gathering, party, or event that you want it to be! But, instead of having people bring house gifts, birthday presents, holiday
gifts, potluck fixings, and so on, have them bring a sealed envelope with a check enclosed in any amount, made out to Enhancement, Inc.
WHAT SHOULD YOU TELL YOUR GUESTS?
Whether you have a small dinner party for 4 people, or a large office holiday party, inform your guests that Enhancement is a local nonprofit
working to improve the quality of life for breast cancer survivors. Most Breast Cancer organizations work on prevention and research, both of which
are invaluable, but we are among the few that work with survivors. You can tell them that Enhancement
- is helping to create a Cancer Resource Center for San Luis Obispo
- holds Creative Healing Retreats
- produced and distributes a therapeutic exercise video for breast cancer survivors called "Focus on Healing", now used in more than 500 hospitals
- is creating a special fund for women in San Luis Obispo County who cannot afford prostheses or lymphedema treatment supplies
- puts on Lymphedema Education Conferences for the Medical Community
WHY SHOULD YOU BOTHER?
Every dollar helps. If just 20 people hosted small dinner parties and each person who attended gave $10, we could raise hundreds and maybe thousands of
dollars while also informing many people about who we are and what we do!
